Unexpected adventures can be the most memorable :)

Nearing the end of winter break my father surprised me with an evening at the gym and some bowling, can't help but smile at how much both my parents care/love/support me.

During one of our many games I somehow pulled off a strike, followed by missing both my next throws, followed by another powerful strike. "There's a blog post here, some hidden meaning", I told my dad. We chuckled and continued to bowl until our inexperienced arms grew tired (most likely from the gym sesh prior).

Now, more than a month later it finally hit me.

We can have life "figured out" and see our goals come to fruition, before everything crumbles before our eyes...

And we're panting, lying face-first on the concrete without a clue as to what hit us, where did we go wrong?

When I missed all the pins TWICE IN A ROW, I started to doubt I'd ever get a strike again, or even a spare. I didn't let that phase me however, and did my best to push aside the negative thinking as I wound up for the succeeding roll. As the pins crashed around the durable cage at the back of the alley, my face shined in an expression of joy.

I managed 9 strikes that evening (haven't bowled in over a year) and though I lost the majority of the matches the evening was one well spent.

Pushing through the mental game is something that can transfer to all areas of life. Our mind can be a place of bondage, or of freedom, we have the power to dictate how and where we go places.

Have that long list of responsibilities and commitments?

Maybe there's a project?

An application that you haven't finished?

Maybe there's a person you've been wanting to contact, but "things" keep coming up and... yeah.

Personally, I've been struggling with anxiety and over-thinking, and will keep telling myself I'll get to the root of the issue through prayer and fasting, but never get to it because I'm busy -- but that word is really an excuse!

Often when we say BUSY that BUSY is actually a priority. Some prioritize sleep, media, gaming, work, these are the things that keep us BUSY.

Next time you see bowling or go bowling yourself, you'll think back to this post and do a quick eval of your current blocks (those things you've pushed to the shadows). Don't let that stuff hold you back, deal with them now! The subconscious is powerful. Step into it carefully and play clean-up.

Oh, and if you get the chance, watch Spider-man: Into the Spider-verse. Great movie!!!
