Having the flu stinks... especially when you have so many events and things planned.
Thankfully, I'm on the diminishing-side, and by tomorrow should be fully recovered if not by tonight.
While shopping for medicine last night, I collapsed near Walmart's pharmacy, my body weak and worn from the bug (collapsed = I was LITERALLY lying down on the hard Walmart floor because it took the least amount of energy. The cold floor was also cool and comforting, unlike standing up). People around looked at me with concern, seeing the illness in my eyes, and they passed on by.
I mean, I probably wouldn't walk up to a stranger who was sick and tired, so not judging. It was an awkward scenario nonetheless. It's crazy how weak the common flu can make someone; really is debilitating.
After walking back into the dorm, I quickly heated up some chicken noodle in our free microwave which we received two weeks ago. With the soup down the hatch, it was finally time to try Theraflu. My body wretched in pain as I took the first swig of the required dose.
Just twenty minutes later, 95% of the symptoms that had plagued me two days straight, were gone.
The few seconds of bitter taste was soooooo worth it.
How often do we let things drag on in discomfort when we should just give a little effort to make change happen? I should have gotten the medicine days ago, but wanted to man-up and take the illness on naturally. Stupidity is what I call that.
Another area in my life that I want put effort in is my workouts. Just an hour/day in the gym can make a wild difference, and when I started the semester I thought I had everything planned (but you all know how new-year-resolutions normally turn out).
What stops us from putting the effort in early? Why do so many of us put stuff off to last minute? Is it because we're lazy? Maybe.
I'm continually dumbfounded by my own mistakes -- I do things over and over again expecting a different outcome each time (this is called insanity).
Today, do the thing you said you'd do tomorrow. And if you feel sick, try Airborne capsules, that dissolve in water, particularly the orange flavored ones. Airborne is an immune system booster that can help you avoid sickness if it's just beginning to rev it's engine. Seriously, this stuff will save you a lot of pain and money!
