I've been living in Dallas for just over a week now and all I can say is HELLO AC! Temps in the 90's with little to no clouds, it's been one adventure after another. Speaking of adventures -- RTX was a blast.
At the Rooster Teeth Con in Austin I met tons of amazing people and was able to partake in numerous events across the downtown area.
That Saturday night, my friend and I walked several blocks to a concert hall to view Rooster Teeth's primary composer, Jeff Williams. The performance was great, and the fans even better... but where do we get this definition of value?
A concept that has been swimming through the channels of my brain is such: One man's trash is another man's treasure.
How is it that people can take such joy in something, in which that same thing in the hands of their neighbor is worthless/pointless? After weeks of thought I came to a humbling conclusion.
After hundreds of years, scientists have come to believe that humanity MAY see colors differently. Example: my orange could be your purple. When I first heard this, I immediately thought, "that's a deep concept when it comes to relating with others on social media... particularly with those who share a different hue, I mean view.."
Could it be that our perception, created through natural and nurtured growth, is so different that it effects our internal desires?
Things are getting wordy, so I'll slow down.
At the college I just moved into, CFNI Dallas, I've met people from all walks of life (may help that it's an international school). Similar to RTX, everyone here has something in common: a passionate love for Jesus. Never before have I felt this surge of purpose and belonging, it's radical. Even here though, people experience their spiritual walk differently, which is awesome because with a thing like your faith it needs to be an intimate and internalized ordeal.
So what about colors... are roses red? Is your red my blue? How do you interpret color?
Red is red. But you don't have to enjoy red if you don't want to -- you can choose your favorite color because we are creatures of free will.
Now that's awesome stuff :)
So, the next time someone around you gets really excited about something, listen in... it might just make their day.
You know that feeling when you get to show someone a new meme or song? It may not be their cup of tea, but by them trying something new they not only are exposing themselves to potential greatness, but in the process are making a friend.
Lot of stuff to think on, but it's been one of those weeks, later!!!
